The speed sensor provides the number of revolutions there to the CDI. So basically how fast you drive your scooter.
This is mounted behind your crankcase cover and measures the revolutions of your rear clutch.
Without a speed sensor, or a different speed sensor, the scooter will not drive at the speed stated on the CDI.
The speed sensor is actually more important for speed than the CDI itself. We often receive questions about how the scooter still travels 32 km per hour after installing a 65km CDI. 99 times out of 100 this is because the speed sensor is loose or no longer present at all.
